In remote parts of the Scottish Highlands, the basic outposts of civilised infrastructure take on a singular importance. This is in Laid, a crofting township scattered along the A838 road on the western shore of Loch Eriboll, a sea loch in Sutherland, photographed in 2014. By the way, that is not wide-angle lens distortion at play, the phone box really is on a slant.
