Commissioned by the son of one of the crew of the aircraft in the foreground, KG514. This features events on 18 September 1944 when No 271 Squadron RAF Transport Command C-47 Dakotas towed Horsa gliders to LZ 'S' near Arnhem, carrying men of the British 1st Airborne Division. That was Day Two of Operation Market - the airborne component of the overall Operation Market Garden.
