One of the ponds at the foot of this sandstone bluff on Cockshaw Hill near Great Ayton in North Yorkshire is known to me as the blue lagoon. We used to play there as children. It's near to the Cleveland Way walking route and Captain Cook's monument. In the distance, the distinctive profile of Roseberry Topping, a well-known local landmark.
