Hawker Hurricane IIB of 174 Squadron
Flight Sergeant (later Squadron Leader) John William Brooks DFC, DFM, flying Hawker Hurricane IIB ("Hurribomber") BE421 XP-G with 174 (Mauritius) Squadron of the RAF while based at Manston in Kent in 1942. This Flight Artworks portrait of Brooks in his usual aircraft, armed with 250lb bombs, was commissioned by his daughter: my thanks to her for the background information and old photos.
