Lancaster releasing Upkeep BW version
A Flight Artworks recreation of a trial of an Upkeep revolving depth charge designed by Barnes Wallis, dropped from a specially adapted Lancaster Mk B III, Type 464 (Provisioning). The store was released at 60ft, revolving backwards to bounce across the surface of the water before sinking, being detonated by a hydrostatic fuse. Hence the term "bouncing bomb".
